Terms of Use
These terms are the agreement between you and Ryan Prasad ("Salt", "we") for using the Salt app at saltapp.co and when installed on your phone or computer. By using Salt you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use Salt. The Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled and is part of this agreement.
What Salt is
Salt is a free app for daily Christian spiritual growth: reading plans, a Bible in many translations, a journal, worship music links, a church finder, news and a calendar. There is no advertising and no subscription. Salt is offered as it is today; features may be added, changed or removed, and the service may be paused or ended. If Salt ever introduces paid features, they will be clearly marked and these terms will be updated first.
Your account
- You must be at least thirteen years old to create an account.
- Give accurate details and keep your sign-in private. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- One person per account. Do not share accounts or use someone else's.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, harms other users or is used to attack the service.
Your content
Everything you write, record or upload in Salt stays yours. You give Salt permission to store it, back it up, and show it to you and to the people you choose to share it with, and for nothing else. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
Do not upload content that is unlawful, that you do not have the right to share, or that harasses or harms another person. In shared plans, treat the other members as you would in a church small group.
Scripture, music and other people's work
Bible translations are provided under their own licences and copyrights, credited in Settings > Bible Translation Credits. Some may be read but not changed. Song links open Spotify, Apple Music or YouTube, whose own terms apply; Salt does not host or stream music. News headlines and images belong to their publishers, and weather and map data are credited in Settings > Data Sources & Licences. Salt does not control those services and is not responsible for them.
Reading plans, the Salt name, the design and the software are owned by Ryan Prasad. You may use them within the app for your personal, non-commercial spiritual growth. Do not copy, sell, scrape or redistribute them, and do not reverse engineer or attack the service.
Not professional advice
Salt offers Scripture, reflections and encouragement. It is not medical, mental-health, legal or financial advice and is not a substitute for a pastor, counsellor or doctor. If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services; in the United States, call or text 988.
No warranty
Salt is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or always available, that content is complete or accurate, or that data will never be lost. Keep your own copies of anything precious; you can ask for a copy of your data at any time (see the Privacy Policy).
Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Ryan Prasad is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of Salt, and total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for Salt in the twelve months before the claim, which today is nothing. Some places do not allow these limits, in which case they apply only as far as that law permits.
Ending the agreement
You may stop using Salt and delete your account whenever you wish. We may end or suspend access if you break these terms. Sections about content ownership, warranties and liability continue to apply afterwards.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version and material changes are announced inside the app. Using Salt after a change means you accept it.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma and the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes are handled in the courts of Tulsa County, Oklahoma, unless the law where you live gives you protections that cannot be waived.
